Vijay TV buys Kalavani

Sun TV has reportedly banned ‘Kalavani’ from its channel after the broadcast rights were sold to Vijay TV. ‘Kalavani’ is a widely appreciated film which stars ‘Vimal’ of ‘Pasanga’ fame and ‘Oviya’ as the lead pair. All the producers, distributors, the media, the theater owners and the audience have been happy with the film for its box office performance.

Besides, the film is neatly scripted and executed. Naseer, the producer of the film, has been the manager of Trisha. Although the film is doing well, Naseer is in a stalemate position unable to promote the film any further as Sun TV has banned the film. None of the songs, scenes, promos and trailers will be shown on Sun TV.

Sun TV and Kalaignar TV are two of the humongous TV Channels who vie for the telecast rights of each and every new film. Other Television Channels consider screening of new films as Sun TV’s and Kalaignar TV’s forte and leave it to the two giants. Even if they fail to get the Broadcast Rights, songs, scenes and promos will be aired on these two channels upon paying money.

However, this time, Sun TV has refrained from telecasting any songs or scenes from the film. Sun TV cites that Naseer is unreliable and he went on to show his film ‘Kalavani’ to two of the giant distributors and producers hailing from the State’s first family while Sun TV was holding talks to purchase the rights of the film.

The empirical production houses could not be offended with nor could the Sun TV be offended with. It sure seems a tough time for Indie Producers as they cannot withstand the clout and wrath of these ‘big Red giants, clouds, suns and sons’.
