Christmas 2009 Special

Vijay TV has lined-up special programmes on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On the eve of Christmas and on the day of Christmas, December 24 & 25, 2009 at 5:30pm It is the festive spirit as Vijay brings to you the annual carol singing competition - ‘Aachi Sing the Season 2009’ with participants from various schools, colleges and churches; these teams rendered some of the all time favorite Christmas classics and the competition was judged by Gospel music director’s Grace Karunas and Shyam and the special guests for the show were Music Composer Harris Jeyaraj, Shobha Chandrasekar and legendary singer P.B.Srinivas. The winning team took home a cash prize of Rs. 50, 000/-. And the runner-up a cash prize of Rs.25, 000/-.

On December 25, 2009 at 7:30am is ‘Christmas Nalvaazthukal’. Celebrate the joy of Christmas; with carols by a primary school choir and spiritual messages by Sam Chelliadurai, Mohan C Lazarus, and Father John Andrews among many others.

At 9am is ‘James Vasanthan udan Oru Isai Payanam. The popular Music Director James Vasanthan will celebrate Christmas with our viewers by bringing on board several budding singers for a memorable performance. Playback singers like Belly Raj and Deepa Mariam (lead singers of ‘Kangal irandal fame’) introduced by James Vasanthan along with Velmurugan who was also introduced by James Vasanthan would be a part of this musical journey. To add in to all the surprises Padma Vibushan Dr. Balamurali Krishnan also joins in the musical journey. A mentor of James Vasanthan, Balamurali narrates how the bond between the two has extended and grown in these years.

At 10am watch special episode of Mr. White Koffee with Anu Season 3 with Nakul and Poorna. The young stars of ‘Kandhakottai’ - Nakul and Poorna will join Anu Haasan for a cool chat and would share some of the interesting experiences during the makings of Kandhakottai.

On Christmas Day Vijay TV presents two special holiday movies that is to attract both the young and old alike. A fun-filled comic film “Snow Dogs” premiering in Tamil at 11am. The movie is about a city bred dentist who inherits a pack of sled dogs in Alaska. Will he be able to make friends with these dogs and win the coveted “Sled racing championship”. Watch out as the dogs have an agenda of their own.

At 3pm tune in for a perfect Christmas flick ‘Santa Clause 2’ premiering in Tamil. Scott Calvin (Allen) has been Santa Claus for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best one ever. But Scott's got problems. His son Charlie has landed on this year's "naughty" list, and if Scott doesn't marry by Christmas Eve, he'll stop being Santa forever. Do not miss to watch this hilarious comedy flick in Tamil. At 2pm and 2:30pm do not miss to watch the special previews of the yet to be released films – ‘Pugaipadam’ and ‘Yathumaagi’.
