NOVEL SHOWS ON VIJAY




Vijay TV has launched a new talent hunt for junior singers from the four southern states. This is one of its kind and a novel idea.

The junior voices that won the Airtel Super Singer Junior – Srikanth, Nithyashree, Shravan and Roshan will compete with some of the best voices from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala in ‘Poorvika Mobile Junior Super Stars powered by India Gate’. The show will go on air from October 15th, 2010, Friday’s and Saturday’s at 9 pm. The winning team will take home a cash prize of 5 lakhs each.

The television channel is launching a game show – Amman TRY Oru Varthai Oru Laksham. The show will be telecast from October 16th, 2010. This game is all about testing the Tamil vocabulary skills of the participants.

Vijay TV's Bhakti fest

Vijay TV's spiritual fest, Bhakti Thiruvizhaa, which will be inaugurated by Ethiraja Jeeyar Swamigal, Sriperambudur will be held from October 18 to 22, at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, T. Nagar, Chennai.

At 6 p.m. Suki Sivam speaks on ‘Gnani Yaar.' On the same day R.P.V.S. Manian delivers a speech on ‘Aadhi Sankararin Vazhvil Sila Adhisayangal.' The second day starts off with seven-year old Varsha Bhuvaneswari's upanyasam on ‘Valli Thirumanam,' after which Karunakarachariyaar Swamigal will speak on ‘Seiyum Seiyyathu.' Dhaamal Ramakrishnan's address follows. On October 20 Vadavooran speaks on Thiruppugazhin Inbam and Desa Mangayarkarasi renders Meenakshi Thirukkalyanam (6 p.m.). Anantha Padmanabachariyar's discourse, Sri Ramanujar Vaibhavam is at 7.30 p.m.

On October 21, 5 p.m., Bala Srinivasan speaks on on Ramana Maharishi and others, and Ilampirai Manimaran on ‘Narayana Enum Naamam' (6 p.m.). Vijay TV launches 'Amman TRY Oru Varthai Oru Laksham'



Vijay TV, a pioneer in bringing innovative shows to the Tamlinadu audience is now launching a game show titled 'Amman TRY Oru Varthai Oru Laksham' from October 16th 2010. The show would air every Saturday at 2000 hrs. This game show tests one's vocabulary of the Tamil language.

Amman TRY Oru Varthai Oru Laksham tests the Tamil vocabulary skills of the participants in finding the correct word in a given duration with the help of clues. The game is played by two teams comprising of 2 members in each team. The first two rounds of this game show is a qualifying round wherein two teams play to qualify for the 'Money Tree' round. The team with maximum number of correct worlds is eligible to move on to the next level of playing the money tree round and the winner can walk away with whopping prize money of One Lakh.

How to play?

The players have to decide on who gives the clues and who answers it. The person giving the clues can give only one-word clues and cannot give sentences or hand gestures. They cannot prompt nor do any act explaining the word. For finding the correct word a maximum of three clues can be given eg: If the word is 'Mazhalai', the clues can be 'kuzhanthai' 'Siruvar' and 'Pasanga'. The team scores high if they crack the answer with the least number of clues.

Money Tree round:

In the first level of money tree round, the team that cracks 5 words out of 9 wins Rs.10,000/-. The second level if the team cracks 5 right words out of 8 wins Rs. 20,000/. Likewise, in the final level if the team cracks 5 right words out of 5 then they walk away with a lakh of rupees.

To play Amman Try Oru Varthai Oru Laksham one would need good diction in Tamil and the show is to be hosted by Award winning Music Director James Vasanthan. Yuvan's concert on Dec 18



Yuvan Shankar Raja has said that his live concert in Chennai will be held on December 18th. Though the date has been finalized the venue has not been finalized. He has been holding discussions with Vijay TV regarding the live concert and everything is expected to fall in place soon.

The music director is already choosing the songs that will be rendered at the concert and says that choosing the songs is not easy.

He adds that the audience will love the show and promises a lot of surprises during the show.

Bhakthi Thiruvizhaa is back



Vijay TV proudly presents Bhakthi Thiruvizhaa – the spiritual fest from 18th Oct to 22 Oct, 2010 in Chennai

“Bhakthi” is the only way to gain true knowledge of the Almighty and the surest way to reach Him. Vijay TV is proud to be back with “Cycle Pure Agarbathies Bhakthi Thiruvizhaa” – a 5 day spiritual fest at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, T. Nagar, Chennai. This 7 year old child prodigy renders interesting notes on the topic. Following this, popular speaker Sri. Oo.Vee. Karunakarachariyaar Swamigal will speak on ‘seiyum’ seiyyathu’. He explains about ‘karmayogam’ from Bagavat Geethai. Following this, Bakthaswara Bajan Mandali performs the ‘Namasangeerthanam. Following this, Sri. Oo. Vee. Thaamal Ramakrishnan speaks on the topic ‘Aindhil Ondru Pettran’. In this he narrates ‘Anjaneyar’ stories.

On 20th October, the third day of the Bhakthi Thiruvizha begins at 5 pm with Sri. Vadhavooran speaking about ‘thiruppugazhin inbam’. At 6 pm, Sollarasi Desa Mangayarkarasi will render her speech on ‘Meenatchi Thirukkalyanam’ wherein she explains about the divine marriage of Somasundareswarar. Following this Smt. Kalyani Margabandhu performs ‘Namasangeerthanam’. At 7.30 pm Sri. Oo. Vee. Anantha Padmanabachariyar will speak about ‘Sri Ramanujar Vaibavam’ with a topic ‘megathin thaagam’ wherein in explains the history of Sri Ramanujar.

On 21st October, the fourth day festival begins at 5 pm with Sri. Bala Srinivasan’s speech on the topic, ‘Annamalaiyarum Adiyavargalum’. In this he explains the greatness of Ramana Maharishi, Gugai Namasivayar, Seshadri swamigal and others. At 6 pm, Perasiriyar Smt. Ilampirai Manimaran will speak on ‘Narayana Enum Naamam’ with significant stories of Lord Perumal. At 7 pm, Smt. Pushpa Anand will perform the ‘Namasangeerthanam’. Following this at 7.30 pm, Smt. Abdul - Azhagiya Tamil Magan



Vijay tv's 'Azhagiya Tamil magan' program was making a big buzz for the last 6 months, towards hunting for 'Mr.Tamil Nadu'. This show was vijay tv's new attempt to screen such a reality contest as a television program for the 1st time, ever in Tamilnadu. The 3 judges who had been invited for this grand finale to select the title winner were actress Kushboo, who was the regular guest to this program and the other 2 special guest includes actress Pooja and Sneha.

Kushboo was the one who was given the chief-guest role of announcing and crowning the title winner.With the audience's huge countdown buzz, the winner was  announced and crowned on the forehead of the youngster, Mr.Abdul. Among the 4 finalists, Mr.Siddarth was selected as the 1st runner up,  Mr.Somashekar as the 2nd runner up and Mr.Ravi shanker as the 3rd runner up.Finally, it was celebration time for Mr.Abdul who was the highest scorer from all the 3 judges, receiving appreciation for having all the best and positive qualities as a Man, to suit this title !!!
