Audiences prefer TV
Following the World Cup and Indian Premiere League, the entire Nation of India is now hooked up with another mania. It’s none other than CCL – Celebrity Cricket League. The actors of four film industries are practicing day and night across the nets to win the tournament. Salman Khan has promised that if his team Mumbai Heroes win the finals, he will take his shirt off.
Kollywood team – Chennai Rhinos has some of the best professional cricket players like Vishnu, a former Ranjith Cricket Trophy player and Vikranth. It is worth mentioning that RJ turned actor Shiva is an all rounder. Though Suriya leads the team, we can be sure that these players will outperform him.
Though tickets for the matches are open for sales, the audiences are preferring to watch the match over Vijay TV for the live telecast.

'Rasigan Express' bus flagged off
The ‘Rasigan Express' bus, which would tour the State in connection with the fifth edition of the ‘Close Up Vijay Awards', was flagged off at the AVM studios here on Friday.
Tamil Film Producers' Council president S.A. Chandrasekar, film producer AVM Saravanan, director A.R. Murugadoss and actor Lissy Priyadarshan were present at the event. Speakers commended Vijay TV for its original ideas and creative attempts in the television space.
Film buffs would be given a ballot paper in which they could indicate who they deem fit for the award in five categories — favourite actor, favourite actress, favourite film, favourite director and favourite song.
The bus will travel across the State.
For the nearly 30 other categories of the awards, a jury comprising actors Yugi Sethu, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Karthik, director A. R. Murugadoss and cinematographer Ravi. K. Chandran will select the recipients.
K.Sriram, general manager, Vijay TV, said the annual Vijay Awards event had gained popularity over the last few years. Speaking on other initiatives of the television channel, he said it was bringing back shows in the comedy genre, in which the channel is considered a pioneer.
“We are also bringing back Jodi No. 1 with a new concept. ‘Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva' will follow soon after. In the fiction genre, we are looking at a story that revolves around college life, the excitement, relationships and politics there,” he said.
With its reach to the U.K., Australia and New Zealand in the testing phase, the channel is all set to expand , Mr.Sriram said.

Vijay TV to telecast Celebrity Cricket League matches
Cricket fever’s long tail continues as a new four team contest kicks off with two matches on 4 June in Bangalore.
The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) has, for the first time, created a platform where film fraternities of the South and Bollywood will battle each other to be one up on each other through cricket. Telugu Warriors – the Manjeera Group through Vishnu Manchu; Karnataka Bulldozers – AKK Entertainment Limited through Ashok Kheny, the managing director of the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise Ltd (NICE);One of the ambassadors of the CCL is Shreya Sharan.
The opening ceremony in Bangalore will see about 1200 folk artists performing live with the main act by Sonu Niigaam along with the main leads of the Kannada movie ‘Prasad’ with Arjun Sarja and Madhuri Bhattacharya as hosts. Bhattacharya, along with Sandalwood actor Ambareesh, is the ambassador of the Karnataka team.
