Kamal Haasan, kick started the promotional campaign for Manmadhan Ambu today (Dec 4) afternoon at a well attended media meet at Park Sheraton in Chennai. Kamal was in his elements as he answered all questions in English, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu regarding the making of the film.
The Manmadhan Ambu team of Kamal, director KS Ravikumar, music director Devi Sri Prasad, actress Sangeeta, choreographer Shobi and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin were present on the occasion.
A 30 minute curtain raiser of Singapore audio launch (to be telecast on Vijay TV on Sunday, December 5 at 11am) was screened for the media. The programme looks really interesting with DSP dancing to the title tune, Andrea singing and performing and Kamal and Trisha reciting the poem.
Later Kamal took over in his inimitable style and made the press meet a huge success. He said Manmadhan Ambu was shot in a huge ship three times the size of a football ground. The ship had three swimming pools and an auditorium which could accommodate 5000 people.
Kamal explained: "Before the shoot started in Europe we went to Dubai where the ship was anchored to take a look and get a feel of it. It took us two days for us to make an inspection of the shoot."
About MA, Kamal said: "It is a romantic comedy, but not on the lines of my earlier films like Panchathantram or Thenali with KSR. It will be something totally different. The number of days we spent rehearsing the script in Chennai, before the shoot in Europe showed the amount of hard work we put in to the film".
Devi Sri Prasad said : "It was a dream come true for me to work in a Kamal sir film. I had earlier assisted in the making of Dasavatharam. I would say the highlight is Kamal sir written song Neeela Vaanam, which he has sung along with Priya Hemesh, it is so beautifully picturised by Ravikumar and choreographer Shobhi."
