Vijay TV launched two serials – ‘Meera' and ‘En Peyar Meenakshi' – this past week.
Meera: (Monday to Friday, 8 p.m.) Meera is the tale of a soft-spoken woman hailing from an orthodox Brahmin family. She works as a nurse in a hospital.
One day, while returning home she finds a baby; its mother's whereabouts are not known.
She takes the baby home but circumstances make her leave home. In a new city, Meera dons the role of a mother. Will she find love? Will the mother of the abandoned child return?
The role of Meera is played by Srija.
The serial is directed and produced by Kavita Bharathi. Hari Krishna has scored the music.
En Peyar Meenakshi: (Monday to Friday, 8.30 p.m.) Meenakshi is all excited about her forthcoming wedding and so is her school teacher father. On the wedding day, the groom is kidnapped. Sakthi, one of Meenakshi's father's students, comes to the rescue and is forced to marry her. Meenakshi is played by Harsha. Veteran actor Delhi Kumar plays Meenakshi's father and Siddharth is Sakthi. The story is written, directed and produced by C. Jerrold.
