Hi all,
Kadhal unplugged was indeed a musical treat and was very enjoyable but the reviews I read in the Hindu paper about the show really didn't make me feel good about it. There was absolute partiality and It was very bias....
With due respect to all the artists and their performances, I would beg to differ from what Suba J. Rao commented about the show.
Looks like she is clueless about the show as well as about the music played in that show... and she didn't have the nerve to comment much about Shrithi Haasan.. I don't think Shruthi is worth all the overwhelming credit she claims for herself. All she has is an empire and a celebrity father. She is a good performer but a terrible singer!!!
Sunitha Sarathy's rendition of "Kannan Vandhu Paadugindraan" was awesome and soul-filled... just the right feel for an R&B soul genre of music... that's exactly what she did... people who don't know the different genre in music should not write reviews... I just want to stop with this... I have so much more to say... but I thought I can atleast bring the heights of prejudicial reviews under the lime light...

not to offend anyone but i agree with the lady atleast we artistes deserve an nubiased review, & due credit where it truly belongs...The review was partial, a bit contorted & very Unfair & if i may add so it also stands against change which is life itself...
iam glad our dear audience can see thru that & i salute the free & open spirit of the youth today
god bless u all

And dear Ms. Neha Bhasin,

It was a day I would cherish all my life. It was a day where I met my favourite actor's daughter, listened to good numbers which I always murmured throughout, happened to listen to the singer herself rendering one of my favourite songs, 'pesugiren'. Loved it.

But did the team do justice to the crowd? Do the organisers know their audience? If the show started with a crowd of 3000, why only 300 were left to listen to the much awaited 'hosanna' song?

Why the cloud of singers disappeared towards the end of the event to perform a medley as it usually happens at the end of any indian musical event? Was it that it was a charity show or the singers were too busy in their schedules?

When that was the commitment from the organisers, what can one expect as an outcome.

The songs were great, the singers were wonderful, but not the event for the crowd.

Love,
Anand Moraes.

Vijay tv Khadal Unplugged was interesting in some parts and very frustrating most of the time. Though i missed the concert my friends did attend the same. But i watched the entire show on vijay tv.

It was a let down when - some singers screamed and grunted. Some performances were cliched.

The ones who stood out were Sunitha Sarathy , Blaaze and Alphonse. Sadly everyone else were on stage for far too long and just got either monotonous or boring.

The lighting and the stage looked good.It was a good attempt but not for this audience.i must agree that the hindu article was also totally biased.i think Ms Subha came for the show last minute without reading anything about the show. And decided to vent her fury on well 2 singers .god knows for what reasons. i think Ms Sunitha did a very nice job with the songs. Kannan vanthu was very melodious and very refreshing and her twist to the song which is years old was good. But my favorite was roja poo.Blaaze is also a treat to watch and hear.he did his part well and stood out in terms of talent.i want to ask this question that is there on many minds - why no comment was made by Ms.Subha regarding Ms Sruthi Hassan s performance? It was a terrible pathetic effort by the incredibly talented Kamal sirs daughter.I think she should pursue acting. And Ms Neha was rather obnoxious in bits too.The growling was putting off.

On the whole a good effort but was it worth doing this show on such a big scale for this audience - vijay tv has a thing or two to learn .

i am happy there is a blog to write about Khadhal Show....
The show was so boring it was like lectures people keep giving as soon as they saw stage(medai)....

My native is Nellore but i am studying in Bangalore and i am visiting my grandparents home in Chennai.
Singer s Neha and Sruthi Costumes were very bad.It was very vulgar the actions Neha was doing we could not watch it with family. Her voice was also not nice.Sruthi Hassan also was wearing bad costume and she was also singing like a man.I cannot belive it is same voice in cd but on the stage they are sounding horrible.

It was an awesome performance of all the musicians who took the tamil music to the next level... I mean some of the performances even out peformed the original movie version for instance "Nenjukkul Peithidum" from Vaaram Aayiram was truly a great performance by Vijay Prakash... It was truly mind blowing and soul touching performances... Undoubtedly those few hours I would cherish in my life... Sunitha Sarathy, Vijay Prakash just stole my heart and the musicians who played the piano - Mr.Shyam, the drums, the guitar, the Flute - MR. Navin --- Wow I never realized there were such talented musicians.. OMG...I really wish I could get this concert on Blue Ray Disc to cherish for life... Absolutely Fabulous performance...

Kadal Uplugged:-Finally a good show but for a terrible audience.
The show started late. The good parts ended too soon and the boring parts kept dragging.
Vijay,Alphonse,Sunitha and Blaze were the good ones. The rest of the singers kept dragging the event with their oh-so-bad voices and boring renditions. Can Vijay tv justify why on earth bad vocalists like Sruthi and Neha were brought on stage?Pathetic effort from both. Some of their performances left us cringing. Not to forget the choice of attire. But Vijay tv insists on making Neha perform .O god I wonder why?The girl is a very average singer .She only uses raunch to sell the event, Shady and completely unnecessary. Sruthi what does she have other than the fact that she is Kamal Hasans daughter. Wearing fancy sarees and screaming does not provide entertainment. Haricharan was best only at duplicating the singers. His renditions were boring and usual and nothing to talk aboutThe girl in the black dress who performed with Devan was terrible(i think it was Subiksha).
Blaze’s performance was absolutely cool he performed so well that we wanted one more song from him. Sunitha came, sang brilliantly and ran away too fast. Kudos to her for giving life to the beautiful Raja composition kannan vandhu paadighiraan. And her opening version of nenjodu was brilliantly accompanied by the musicians. Alphonse was also a real treat. Very unique voice but he too was gone in the blink of an eye.
To sum up the show and as a word of caution to show producers-sex sells but at the end of it talent is what drives the world. And no one is wide eyed about bimbos on stage. The world has grown up.They get their dose of rubbish from dubious sites.Stop wasting money and prime time on rubbish.A section of society is losing interest in what Vijay tv churns out.
