With the entire town inquisitively looking out for the Pongal releases, here's something special about Porkalam. One fine reason why the film keeps us waited with expectations is for the rich vibrant visuals we witnessed in trailers. For the first time in history Tamil cinema, this would be the only film that wasn't watched by producer himself. Debutant Bandi Saroj Kumar didn't screen even a single sequence or songs for distributors. But, it's surprising to hear that the distributors were impressed with trailers and bought thefilm for record breaking price.
Porkalam has been produced at a cost of Rs.8 crores and was supposed to hit screens by December. The film will be released in 25 centres and it's worth mentioning that Vijay TV has acquired the satellite rights for Rs. 1.5 crores. Thefilm features Kishore and newcomer Smitha in lead roles while Lal, Biju Menon, Pon Vannan, Santhana Bharathy and Bollywood actor Tinu Anand have meaty roles to perform.
